The Lorax Like & Plant with Woodland Trust

All kids like to get muddy for a good cause, and this National Tree Week they have an even better reason! As The Lorax is released on 3D Blu-rayTM, DVD and Digital Download, Universal Pictures (UK) has teamed up with The Woodland Trust to create the first ever Facebook ‘Like and Plant’ app and have committed to plant a tree for every ten likes that The Lorax Facebook page receives during 12th and 25th November.

Dr Seuss’ The Lorax tells the story of the grumpy yet charming creature, The Lorax, and warns against mindless progress and the danger that it poses to the earth’s natural beauty.

In partnership with The Woodland Trust’s Nature Detectives Club, kids can sign up and join in the fun. To track the number of trees planted, and see if the target is reached, watch the tree counter app on The Lorax Facebook page. The Woodlands Trust is the UK’s leading charity championing native woods and trees. It has 300,000 members and supporters, it aims to protect native woods, trees and wildlife for the future and to inspire everyone young and old to enjoy and value woods and trees.

In addition to the Facebook page, people can get involved in person by planting their own tree at Woodland Trust’s events around the country, or attending other National Tree Week events. You can also register your own tree-planting event with the Tree Council, so you can get all your family and friends involved! Penny Pulfreyat the Woodland Trust said “We are delighted to be a part of this imaginative partnership between The Woodland Trust and The Lorax, and can’t wait to see how many trees are planted as part of the scheme. The Lorax is a film that highlights issues that The Woodland Trust is passionate about, so everyone should get involved, like and share the page and help protect our environment.”

Don’t miss the must-see kids film of the year The Lorax, available to buy on 3D Blu-rayTM, DVD and Digital Download on 19th November. Dr seuss’ the Lorax is an adaption of dr.seuss’ classic tale of a forest creature who shares the enduring power of hope. A Boy goes on a journey to search for the one thing that will enable him to win the heart of the girl of his dreams. To find it he must discover the story of the grumpy yet charming Lorax.
