Lucas Frank Curtis Island Polo Shirt Review

I recently wrote a post about nautical clothes for boys and in it i talked about a lovely tee-shirt from Lucas Frank, the tee had a lighthouse emblem on it. I am always on the look out for good quality but affordable clothes for my boys. I like them to look trendy but feel comfortable at the same time, they are not shy to wear bright colours and they don’t particularly like to wear what all their friend’s are wearing as they like to be different. It’s nice to see them looking smart, not just for special occasions but on normal days too.

Lucas Frank are an on-line shop that sells leisurewear for little gentlemen aged from 18 months to 10 years old, at the moment their range is Polo’s, Tee-Shirts and Hoodies all of which have the Lucas Frank lighthouse emblem on them. All the clothes are beautifully designed and stitched to a high standard. They are of a high quality and very detailed which give them the look and feel that you will get from designer wear.

So when i was offered to review a Polo Shirt from Lucas Frank I was happy to do so. On the Lucas Frank website there clothes look amazing and of good quality and i wasn’t disappointed when the product arrived, it was even better than what i thought it would be. When the top came it was packaged really nicely, all wrapped up in blue tissue paper with a Lucas Frank sticker on it. Before i even opened up the parcel i knew it would be of high quality because of the way it was packaged, a lot of time had been put into the presentation. The top itself is gorgeous, my son was very impressed with it and straight away tried it on, he said it felt lovely and soft and he really liked the emblem. He doesn’t really like to wear clothes with big emblems all over them so this was just perfect. Jak asked me to put it away for his holidays which we were going on a few days after the top arrived, i knew then that it was a big hit for him as he likes to take his smart clothes away with him to wear in the evening at the clubhouse. The top is Salmon in colour with a light blue double-sided contrast under the cuff on the sleeve and the collar and on the inside of the polo’s front and back shoulder yolk, which is stitched onto the top with a quilted effect. The stitching is to a high standard and is very detailed, even down to the buttons which are branded with LF. The Polo is 100% cotton and is advised to be washed at 40 degrees, which i did and it has still come out feeling soft and looking just as good. In my opinion the shirt is a lovely item to have in your boys wardrobe and is priced affordably for what you are getting. The only downside would be that they are only for children to the age of 10 years old and that they do not do the in adult sizes, as my Partner said he would have liked one in his size.

The Polo Shirt has been recently been renamed ‘The Curtis Island Polo’ by Lucas Frank, Curtis Island Lighthouse is at the southeast end of Curtis Island, overlooking Camden Harbor in Maine, United States. The Lighthouse was built in 1836.

The polo can be bought from for £19.99

It would make a gorgeous gift for a little boy or just to add as a staple item to their wardrobe.

  1. Love the design and lighthouse motif but the colour doesn’t work for me. I loved the navy tee that you featured a couple of weeks ago. Jak looks super cute in this one though.
