An online store full of art and crafts supplies.

Being part of the Yellow Moon bloggers programme, ment that we were sent our seasonal package full of easter craft sets for us to try out. The sets are ideal if you’re not very crafty and lack in ideas (perfect for me) plus everything is included in the pack that you would need to create an art master piece.

Here are some of the Easter sets that we received

yelloe dots

Easy Dotty Sticker Art comes with 8 assorted designs including a chick, lamb, bunny rabbit and an Easter egg. Each pack contains 16 sheets of assorted colours and sizes of dotty stickers.

The dots are easy to peel. You get to choose the colours that you want to use. This activity kept myself and the children busy for a while. The result is pretty and are perfect for hanging up on the wall at Easter time. I love how the vibrant colours of the dots stand out against the black background.

yellow easter box

The Easter gift boxes comes in 4 assorted designs- chick, bunny,Easter egg and a daffodil. The designs are pre printed onto the box, decorate with felt tip pens or crayons. They are easy to fold and put together, just secure in place with some tape once closed. We filled ours with some of the Easter tissue and then placed some eggs inside ready to hid in the arden for the children to find them. They are ideal for placing gifts or chocolates inside for friends or family. Or even to give out as a party treat box, allow your guests to colour them in forst and then place a slice of cake inside to take home.

easter wood

The Easter wooden shape pack comes with 10 assorted designs-Easter basket, daffodil, chick, butterfly, chicken, lamb, chick in an egg, bunny, bunny head and an Easter egg. Made from 3mm plywood, approx. 8-13cm wide. Decorate with felt tips pens or acrylic paint. Ideal for any Easter activity. The eldest has saved a few of the shapes so that he can make a wind chime with them . The youngest coloured his in with felt tips and then stuck a lollypop stick onto the back so that they could be placed into the ground during his Easter egg hunt. He even placed some yellow feathers onto the chickens tail.

easter basket

The Spring baskets come in 4 assorted colours – blue, pink, yellow and green. Each kit contains card basket templates, card handle and split pins. Each side of the basket template and the handle are decorated with a different pattern, flowers on one side and gingham check on the other. Contrast your basket by changing the pattern. The instructions are easy to follow. Fold along the lines and then slot the pieces together. There are already pre-cut holes where the split pins go, so they are really easy to make. We filled our ones with some of the shredded tissue and then the boys went off into the garden for their egg hunt

IMG_20160325_181917

They managed to fill them up with the goodies they found in the garden. I think they got quite a lot into them. They are ideal for spring parties or displays.

easter bunny

The Easter bunny mix and match kit comes with 8 assorted designs. Design your bunny by mixing up his/her clothes and accessories. Decorate your bunny with a hat, shoes, bow tie or flower, t- shirt or dress and no bunny is complete without holding onto an egg. The foam decorations are pre cut and easy to peel away from the backing. These bunnies are perfect to hang around your house or to hang on your Easter tree. You could even stick them onto some paper an creat a bigger picture.

yellow paint

The paint pad comes in 4 colours – red, blue, yellow and green. Each paint section is approx. 7.5 x 7.5cm. Ideal for finger painting or use with stamps. We made sping flower cards for our friends. The pads are fun to use and the paint easily washes off. It dries really quickly and is quite watery.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our Yellow Moon spring craft sets. They have kept the children entertained on rainy days.

We have been provided the craft sets for the purpose of this review

Mothers Day Crafts with Yellow Moon

Mother’s Day is nearly on top of us and if you are thinking about what crafts the children can do at home, take a look at the following 5 products that Yellow Moon have to offer.

There is nothing better than receiving a home-made gift from my boys on Mothers Day. Mostly they are cards that they have made at school or something that they have put together in the corner of their bedroom on the said day.

Yellow Moon is an online arts and crafts store that supplies children’s craft sets and party bag fillers. They have a wide range of arts and crafts for every occasion all you have to do is add a little imagination to create a master piece.

Mothers Day Sand and Glitter Art Picture Sheets £2.40 Pack of 6

yellow glitter The pack comes with 6 assorted designs, each sheet measures 19 x 12cm. Everything is a sticker, peel away what you would like to add some glitter or colourful sand to and design away. Why not mix it up a bit by adding in some more colour with some felt tip pens, colour in what you haven’t added some glitter to. These cute little cards will add sparkle to any Mummy’s morning.

Mother’s Day Rosette Badge £3.49 Pack of 6

yellow rosette

Show your Mum that she is a star and your number 1 by presenting her with a badge that she could proudly wear all day, knowing that her precious little ones had made it with love for her. There are 3 assorted designs in the kit, each kit contains a rosette template, sequins, self adhesive foam pieces and a badge pin. The instruction sheet, as always, is easy to follow with pictures showing each step which makes it clear for young children to do. My boys really enjoyed this activity and have stored away their creations ready to give to me on Mother’s day morning.

Wooden Jewellery Hands £2.40 Pack of 2

yellow hand

Decorate these wooden hand shapes with Deco pens, glitter and sequins and use to display your jewellery on. Each kit comes with the wooden hand shape and a wooden base that just slots into each other, no glue is needed. My son chose to paint the hand  red with acrylic paint, then once dried he decorated it with buttons and glitter glue. It looks good on my bedside cabinet and I would be very happy to receive this as a gift. My rings are very small so they don’t fit all the way down, but they still fit on. You can hang your necklaces and bracelets on it too. These are ideal gifts for any female out there not just your Mum.

Butterfly Cushion Sewing Kits  £4.50 pack of 2

yellow butterfly

The kit comes in 2 assorted butterfly designs, cushion size 20cm wide. Each kit contains pre punched felt templates, self adhesive felt shapes, yarn, plastic needle, stuffing and stuffing. I absolutely adore these sewing kits for children, it is such a fun way to introduce sewing to them. They are perfect for their fine motor skills and also their concentration. My boys struggled a little as the yarn was very long and they kept getting all caught up in it and tangling it all up. Mummy did have to help them out a little. I love the final product and the butterflies are now sitting proudly on the boys bed ready for them to cuddle into at night-time.

Flower Craft Box £2.99 pack of 4

yellow box

These little craft boxes are a favourite of my own. I had the chance to get out my decopatch paper and  glue and decorate away. Each flower box measures 7cm diameter, so ideal for those little trinkets, pins, pennies or craft materials. I could just see it being a fabulous way to present a little gift in. They can be decorated with pens, paints and sequins.  I found this paper in a craft shop recently and have been waiting for something to decorate with it. I adore my little box and I am going to store my safety pins in at work.

If you like the loom of someof these crafts why not head on over to the website to see what else they have to offer. Fabulous prices and some great crafts sets.

I was supplied with these products for the purpose of this review. Mumofthreemusketeers are a part of yellowmoon bloggers.

We designed our heart then weaved our coloured thread through the holes. It was a fun activity, that doesn’t have to be just for valentines. It’s a great way to introduce children to weaving and they can weave however they please, making new patterns each time.

heart picture

We also printed off a couple of our favourite pictures and using some glue stuck them onto the heart. We had to cut the pieces out again using a craft knife. I think they turned out pretty good.

Making cards and presents with a personal touch is so much better than buying something from the shops. I think it shows that you put time, thought and effort into something that is personal and made with a loving touch.

These cute these cards can be for valentines and Mothers day

Star mosaic wand

Star Glitter Wands kits comes in an assortment of 4 colours, Orange, Red, Blue and Purple. Like all of the kits from Yellow Moon, it comes with easy to follow picture instructions. In each kit you will find a wooden stick, mosaic self adhesive tiles, ribbon and a star template. This wasn’t a favourite of my boys but they reluctantly made them and soon found themselves enjoying the activity. The little glitter mosaic tiles are fiddly at first, as they are quite small and not so easy to peel off and place onto the star but once you get the hand of it, it gets easier. This activity took the longest to do and really helped with the boys concentration. Even though it was tricky they was determined to finish the wand. We have placed our wand on to the tree.

Reindeer gift bags

The Reindeer Gift Bags are the most adorable way to give a present to someone. The bag size is 11cm x 12cm so only little gifts can be added into them or they can be used as a party bag for the children. Each pack comes with 2 assorted colours and in each kit you will find everything to make the gift bag with, paper bag, pre cut self adhesive foam pieces and googly eyes. They are easy and fun to make. As with most kits from Baker Ross, they come with self adhesive stickers but some you need to use your own glue. With the gift bags you need to glue down the antlers and the ears, we used a glue stick and it did the job. The boy really enjoyed this craft, they love that they have their own gift bag to store their little pieces of art work in.

Penguin sewing decoration kit

A favourite of my boys was the Penguin Sewing Decoration Kits. Each kit includes pre-cut felt shapes, self-adhesive felt pieces, yarn, stuffing, ribbon & plastic needle. This activity isn’t just cute and adorable to loom at but it also teaches children sewing skills, which is really good for there fine motor skills. The Tumbling Snowmen are cool little guys that have sticky hands, feet and bellies. Stick them on glass, a wall or a cupboard and watch them tumble-down to the floor. These little cool dudes are so much fun, but don’t take your eyes off of them as they can go really fast! Place on shiny surfaces and have races, see whose snowman is the fastest! Perfect as a stocking filler or even to add to the children’s advent .

DSC_2323-opt

The boys really enjoyed this activity, the instructions are easy to follow as they are pictures rather than words, so even the 4 year old could do it.

DSC_2322-opt

The template foam sheet is a little small for bigger hands, I have small hands and my hand just about fit on.

Halloween Foam Stickers – Pack of 100 – £2.99

DSC_2333-optSticker size 12mm-45mm

DSC_2334-opt

The boys decided to stick them onto a piece of paper, leaving a pile of white backing paper from the stickers all over the floor. Still, it kept them busy for 15 minutes and I had no arguments about who got what stickers as there were more than on of each design.

Pesty Pirate Pop-Up Pals – Pack of 6 – £2.75

DSC_2311-opt

Heave ho me hearties! These Pesty Pirates have foam printed faces and are sitting on a string spring. Once you press them down, you can watch them fly as they pop up into the air. They come in 3 assorted designs – blue, black and red, character size appox. 80mm. Suitable for 3+

DSC_2313 (1)-opt

The boys had lots of fun in the living room, popping the pirates up into the air. They can be a little temperamental and a little stubborn at times and not pop up but a little patience and they soon decide to go for a fly. Pesty pirates make cute little halloween or party gifts. We had competitions on whose could pop up the highest, there were lots of giggles and maybe the odd tantrum when their pirate didn’t pop lol.

Why not take a wander on over to Yellow Moon and see what other crafts they have to offer.

Easter/Spring crafts with Yellow Moon

Easter time isn’t quite right without participating in some crafting at home with the children, especially when the rain is pelting down against the window panes. If you’re looking for the alternate gift to give at easter rather than chocolate why not check out the Easter crafts on off at Yellow Moon

Yellow moon is the ideal shop for all of your crafting essentials, wether it be kits to make up, paints, clay, sewing kits and much more, Yellow moon stocks them all.

We was recently sent a box of arts and crafts goodies for Easter to enjoy, In our box we received:

DSC_1230_opt

My boys are always excited when we receive a Yellow Moon box, they instantly know what the parcel contains as it has the instinctive yellow moon tape all around it which is yellow and blue. They can not wait to see what is inside, my youngest boy is a keen crafter. The kits are perfect for him as they teach him how to follow instructions, with step by step pictures.

  • With the buttons we made a couple to cards to give out to members of the family. Buttons are ideal for crafting with and can be used on many different projects. The buttons come in an assortment of bright colours, they measure 15mm and made from real wood.

DSC_1458_opt IMG_20150222_211133_opt

  •  The Easter Bunny sewing decoration kits are a perfect introduction to sewing, the kit comes with 3 pre-punched felt pieces in blue, purple and pink. The kit also contains self-adhesive felt shapes, wool, wiggle eyes, plastic sewing needle and stuffing. DSC_1304_opt

We began with tying on the ribbon and then once the needle was threaded with the wool we was ready to begin to sew. This activity really helped my boys with their concentration, we had a few mishaps where the odd hole was missed out but it still looked good even if the boys added 5 eyes!

  •  A favourite of my youngest was the Easter Mosaic Wands, he instantly fell in love with the finished product. Each kit comes with four different characters; chick, lamb, egg and a bunny.
DSC_1615_opt
Includes: foam characters, wooden wand, self-adhesive foam tiles, ribbons

My youngest is 3 years old and he began to take off the backing from the mosaic tiles but got himself into a bit of trouble as they kept getting stuck together. The tiles were quite small so it was little fiddly but once the backing was off, placing them onto the foam character was easy as it was marked on as to where to stick them.

DSC_1618_opt

A really good thing about this kit and most other kits from Baker ross -Yellow Moon is that the instructions are easy to follow for the children. With no words and only pictures to follow my youngest was able to tell me what was happening next.

DSC_1617_opt

Once all the tiles were in place, you add the wand and some colourful wanderful magic by adding the ribbon, this makes waving the wand oh so much more fun!

DSC_1619_opt

  • The foam birdhouse kits were fun and easy to make, again with simple picture instructions to follow. Each kit contains thick foam templates and self adhesive foam shapes and comes in two different colours. Although this kit is recommended for 5+ my youngest really enjoyed doing it (under adult supervision) The templates join together with a push in connection and once completed make lovely little easter gifts for friends or family members.

PicMonkey Collage

  •  We had fun with the wooden birdfeeders, once made the youngest gave them away as gifts to his childminder. Again they were easy to make with simple instructions to follow. The kit comes with pre-cut wooden pieces and cord to hang them with. Each piece slots in together and there is no need for glue, although we used a little in some places to secure it a little more. The birdfeeders were quick to make but it was the decorating that was the fun part.

PhotoGrid_1427950169585

We made two out of the 3 up, one my son decorated with the spring flower foam stickers and the other he painted to look like a house.

My children have really enjoyed making the Yellow Moon craft kits. It was lovely to see them making something that were proud of.

Brought to you as part of being a yellow moon blogger. This review contains my own pictures and words, no payment has been received apart from the craft kits.

Yellow Moon have an exciting range of themed crafts available on-line to suit every one of all ages, whether it be a birthday party, a child’s gift or just to keep the children busy during the summer holidays, they can supply you with anything.

We was recently sent a Summer package to try out a review

  • Crystal Glitter Stick on Stars (pack of 280)                   £2.99
  • Felt Butterfly Stickers (pack of 40)                                  £2.99
  • Beach Hut Coin Banks (box of 4)                                       £5.99
  • Safari Animal Card Shapes (pack of 10)                          £2.45
  • Lip Whistles (pack of 10)                                                      £1.99
  • Football Foam Bookmarks (pack of 4)                            £3.95
  • Tropical Fish Suncatcher Decorations (pack of 6)     £2.99
  • Design a Finger Skateboards (pack of 12)                      £2.99

The boys set to crafting with the Skateboards, using the stick on stars and some sparkly Deco pens, they designed their very own mini finger skateboard. Each skateboard comes individually wrapped which is ideal if you want to place in a party bag or give away as gifts. My eldest designed a couple for his friends, personalising them with their initials and sticking on the foam stars, he then placed them bag in the little bag that it came in so that he could give them away as a leaving gift at school.

20140716-221913.jpg

The youngest enjoyed drawing and colouring in the card Safari Animal Shapes With 10 different types of animals to choose from, Oliver and his cousin sat down with the craft box and had lots of fun together. They decided to use some googly eyes, the butterfly shaped stickers and some felt tip pens to make some very colourful animals, I love what my niece did with the Horse shaped card, she even added on a feather for the horse’s mane.

20140716-221307.jpg

Oliver enjoyed decorating the monkey, I think he may have had a little help from his big cousin in placing the stickers on in the correct places, but I love that he sat down and spent time with her to craft together. He puts a lot of concentration in when he is colouring or making things and really thinks about what colours and stickers to use.

20140716-221334.jpg

The sun was shining so the boys decided to do some painting outdoors in the garden, they painted the ceramic coin beach huts and although they got a bit messy, they had lots of fun. The money banks are now on their sides in their bedroom collecting up their money ready to spend in the summer holidays.

20140716-221056.jpg

I thought that the beach huts were very cute and couldn’t wait myself to get designing, I used a selection of sparkly Deco pens to decorate it with, what do you think?

20140716-221922.jpg

I think they would make great gifts to their friends to save up their pennies in.

We’ve received similar bookmarks before from Yellow Moon, last time the boys made up Olympic designed ones, this time Joseph was very excited to see that they were football related. He has never really been a football fan but with the recent hype about the world cup he has shown a lot more interest in the sport. He chose his design and got to peeling away the backing from the pre-cut foam stickers to stick them in place, which even with his little fingers he found quite easy.  Never one to follow instructions he just decided to stick the stickers wherever he felt like lol

20140716-221020.jpg

The Lip Whistles are brilliant if your child is having a party this summer, they can be added to a party bag as a little gift to the party goers or like us why not take them away with you on holiday and drive everyone mad with the noise 😉  They come in four bright colours Green, yellow, orange and pink, each wrapped in its own little bag, they would be ideal for a lucky dip. Place the whistles between your lips and blow, they make a fabulous little whirling noise keeping the children amused for hours.

20140716-221040.jpg

The last thing we received in our craft box was the sun catchers in the shape of fish, they come with a silver cord that you attach to the finished decorated fish ready to hang in the window and for the colours to reflect into the room once the sun catches them. We didn’t have any glass pens or paint so we used our deco pens to colour them in with, they come in three assorted designs and look so colourful up against a window

20140716-221124.jpg
Why not make your own coral reef display in the window

20140716-221111.jpg

Why not get on over to www.yellowmoon.org.uk and check out what other crafts that have on offer!

We were provided with these crafts for the purpose of this review as a part of the Yellow Moon bloggers network.

Crafting with Yellow Moon; Finger Puppets and Christmas Wreaths

As being part of the Yellow moon blogging community we are extremely lucky to receive special packages from them, the boys and myself loves these type of packages as they are full up with crafts. As soon as a parcel arrives they are quickly opening up the box to see what is inside and deciding what they are going to use and make.

last week we received:

Winter Card & Paper Value Pack (pack of 100) £5.99

Snow Pals 4 Piece Stationary Set (pack of 3) £3.95 £1.99

Christmas Feathers (14g bag) £2.50

Christmas Glitter Pom-Poms (pack 100) £2.75

Pearlised Sparkle Acrylic Deco Pens (pack of 5) £9.99

Mini Glue Dots (box of 300) £2.99

20131217-065622.jpg

The little stationary sets are ideal for little presents or to add in to your child’s pencil case, Joseph loved the set and now keeps it in his bedroom next to his secret diary 🙂 easily accessible when he needs to add some information into his diary. Joseph also uses it for his homework, he really enjoys having his own stationary set to use. I have taken the other two into work with me ready to give away as prizes to the children at their Christmas party, I know that they are going to love them!

We used the colourful card to make a Christmas Wreath, I cut out a circle with a hole in the middle from the green card and then Oliver got to the fun bit, sticking! He stuck on some of the feathers and pom-poms, to make it look all Christmasy and it is now hung up in our livingroom for all to see.

20131217-065945.jpg

Jak has recently learnt how to do origami in school and he also has a book on it, he used the paper to fold up and make finger puppets. He made all types; Superman, big ones, little ones and even a little Santa. My favourite one was Superman, the boys spent ages playing with them and jak has even made some for his friends.

20131217-065937.jpg

He used some of the small pom-poms for the eyes and a feather for the hair. The mini glue dots were easy for him to use and also less messier than pva, the eyes haven’t fallen off yet so they must be held on quite firmly.

Their are lots of colours to choose from in the card & paper pack including silver and gold which is a favourite of my boys as they always like sparkly stuff, but as it is Christmas they just stuck with the green and red colours.

The pearlised  sparkle deco pens were a personal favourite of mine and Jak’s although i must admit I have sneakily hidden them at the back of my drawer so that the boys don’t get them. The pens comes in two different packs, each with different shimmery colours in them, the pack we received had Silver, Gold, Red, Blue and Green. each pen is filled with a water based acrylic. They can be used on just about anything such as card, paper, wood and glass. I decorated a small jar for Jak’s Christmas present and filled it with his favourite sweet; yellow bellies.

With a little bit of ribbon round the neck it will make a perfect stocking gift for him. As the pens are water based you don’t have to push down on them too hard, but the good thing is they don’t take too long to dry 🙂

Easter Crafts With Yellow Moon Review

It’s raining, It’s pouring (or snowing in most cases)

The boys are Yawning!

Spring is here and the Easter holidays is nearly on top of us, at the moment the weather isn’t exactly normal spring weather and with the icy cold wind and snow drifts that we have been having lately my boys have spent little time outside and more time tucked away in their bedrooms. I don’t like them to be in different rooms to me when indoors so I think the best thing for them to do, something that they all do well together is to get the crafts out and start making things.

Yellow Moon is a fabulous website to buy crafts and gifts from, their is something for every occasion and season, stocking a wide range of art and crafts that will keep your children entertained for hours.

We was sent a box of Easter related crafts which have kept the boys busy over the past week

  • Easter Tattoos (pack of 24) £1.99
  • Coloured Easter Bonnet Kits (pack of 3) £2.50
  • Easter Foam Stickers (pack of 120) £2.99
  • Easter Foam Crown Kits (pack of 2)
  • Easter Coloured Baskets (pack of 12) £2.99
  • Personalised Easter Cards (pack of 8) £1.99
  • Sequin Egg Kits (pack of 3) £3.60
  • Easter Glitter Décor Stickers (pack of 36) £1.49
  • Easter Decoration Sewing Kits (pack of 3)

Joseph couldn’t wait to choose a tattoo to place on his arm and was quickly ripping away the packet to choose the picture he wanted, it didn’t bother him that they were easter related with little yellow chicks instead of his normal spiderman ones he was just as excited to be getting a tattoo. Once he had chosen two he put his arms out in front of him waiting impatiently patiently for his tattoo. They were easy to apply and the perfect size for little arms, peel off the plastic backing and place the tattoo sticky side down onto the skin then wet the top of it with a damp cloth, put pressure down onto the wet tattoo and after a few seconds peel away revealing the chosen tattoo.

The Easter coloured baskets come in a pack of 12 in 4 assorted spring time colours, the card is pre cut ready to fold and stick together to make a cute little basket to carry around their Easter treats in. You will need glue for this activity to secure the corners of the basket, the handle slots into the pre cut slot in the basket, ideal for little hands to do. Joseph decorated his little basket with the Easter foam stickers. I don’t think that these baskets don’t really need any decoration as they are bright in colour and have a scalloped edge which makes them look very cute, but for added cuteness the foam stickers were ideal. Joseph found them easy to peel off the self adhesive backing and there is a wide selection of designs including words, chicks and eggs. There are plenty in the pack to pack decorate the baskets and more, they are ideal for card making and other crafts.

A personal favourite of mine was the Egg sequin kits, they were easy to make and make brilliant home decoration especially for those that make Easter Egg Trees. Included in the pack is the polystyrene eggs, coloured sequins, safe plastic pins, ribbon and a bow. Each pack has two different coloured sequins so you can do your own design on it or follow the one on the instructions. I done this activity myself and really enjoyed it, I actually felt quite proud of my creation, just goes to show that adults can enjoy crafting too!

20130327-063739.jpgThis activity is quite a grown up one so will suit the older children that no longer want to do the bonnets and crowns. They make gorgeous glittery decorations for the home.

The Personalised Easter Cards are ideal for those children who love to colour in, pre printed In 4 assorted Easter designs with envelopes included they make great gifts for the family, I love receiving personal cards from the children, they tend to stay up on the wall that little bit longer.

20130327-065057.jpgOliver coloured his in pencil and the boys used bright felts, the cards are quite thick so will probably take paint aswell.20130327-065106.jpg

The Easter Bonnets were easy to make although slightly tricky for little hands as they needed to be glued. The bonnet comes in three separate parts, one rim, one top bit and two pieces for the sides all pre cut from strong card, the sides have tabs that you bend over and its these that are glued to the rim and top part of the hat, I secured the tabs with sticky tape as well. Joseph decorated his hats with felts, foam stickers and some of the Glitter décor Stickers.

The Décor stickers are lovely and sparkly, they come in assorted colours and designs, 8 stickers and 3 borders per pack.

The Colourful Easter foam crown kit contains foam crown, pre-cut self-adhesive foam pieces, wiggle-eyes and instructions, comes in two different designs. They are easy and fun to put together so perfect for the younger age group, you can follow the design guide on the instructions leaflet or design your own. There are pre cut slots so it easy to put together just by slotting one end in to the slot.

Yellow Moon is the ideal website if you are looking for any craft activity to do and all products are affordably priced. The kits keep the children entertained and amused for hours.

We was provided with the crafts for the purpose of this review, words and pictures are my own.

Stocking Fillers with Yellow Moon

We received a parcel last week from yellow Moon and was quite surprised to see what was inside as normally we get a box of seasonal crafts to make and be creative with but this time we was given a box full of goodies to play with, Joseph couldn’t believe it as among the many little toys and games was speed racer construction kits.

Not only do Yellow Moon sell a brilliant selection of crafts but they also stock toys and games and my boys were not let down by them! They liked every single item sent through to them to review, I almost didn’t give them any of them as they were just too good and i really wanted to wrap them up for them.

We received:

Speed Racer Construction Kits –  £1.49 each

Holographic Magic Spring – £1.49 each

Micro Football Table – £8.99 (was £9.99 as of 15.12.12)

Pirate Shrinkles – £5.99 (was £6.99 on 15.12.12)

Horrible Histories Vile Villian Brainbox – £7.99

3D Moveable T-Rex Puzzle – £3.99

Speed Racer Construction Kits were a favourite of Joseph as he loves Lego and these are very similar. They don’t take long to construct and come with easy to follow instructions and a driver which has a detailed face and body. We built ours within minutes and the boys were soon racing there cars against each other. Joseph has taken a couple of the cars apart and put the pieces together to build his own so they do  not have to stay together. They come in varied designs but are all racing cars.

Holographic Magic Springs comes in a range of different colours, we received a green one. Jak really enjoys these springs and spent ages watching it flip down the stairs. Our stairs are pretty wide so the spring had trouble getting from one step to the next but it did manage a few at a time. This spring kept the boys amused for ages, a brilliant little stocking filler at a superb price.

I was very surprised with The Micro Football Table it is made to a high standard of a high quality wood, we have had mini football tables before which have been bought for the boys as presents and they have been plastic and have broken in the matter of hours. this table is made from wood and actually looks like the  normal big ones that you get in the amusements but a smaller version, which means it can be taken in the car to relatives or moved from room to room to be played with. It didn’t take long to fix together and it comes with all the tools needed to do so. The first game was played by Jak and Daddy and they was screaming away at each other like it was a real football match. The game comes with two score boards which are screwed to each end behind the goals, two footballs and the handles are non slip with little grooves in them and are perfect for little hands too. A brilliant gift for any child at a really fabulous price.

Pirate Shrinkles is sort of a craft set where you draw or trace the Pirates, colour them in and shrink them in an oven. There are two sheets which has pirates and all the little extras on like a treasure chest and coins on, you cut around the pictures leaving a little space, colour them in and then place them in the oven and watch then curl and shrink to become hard little men. Includes 33 Shrinkles plus all the accessories and instructions. The set also comes with accessories so you can make badges, key fobs, fridge magnets, pencil toppers and jewellery, before you bake the shrinkles make sure you hole punch then first as it will be hard to make a hole in the plastic once shrink. Joseph really enjoyed doing this activity and has helped him loads with his control of colouring in as he was really interested in making one, It’s not often when you see Joseph enjoying colouring in as he is a little boy who likes messy play normally, he sat and coloured all the little coins in and was excited to see how small they all shrunk. I was like a big kid too, it just amazed me lol! the kit of shrinkles are definitely something i would be buying again for the boys and even myself 😉

The Horrible Histories Villian BrainBox was a big hit with Jak as he really enjoys history and has all of the horrible history books. The game is compact and can be taken out and about with you, we took ours onto a shoot that Joseph was doing as it can get pretty boring with all the waiting around that is done. Jak and i played the game and he beat me lol. The game is a memory game, you read and study the facts about a character from history for 10 seconds and then answer the questions to keep the card. The questions may not just be what you read but may also be about what the picture is about. It is a fun game but also educational. It comes with 54 picture cards, timer and a dice all in a compact little box.

Joseph thought the 3D Moveable T-Rex Puzzle was amazing and i couldn’t agree more! The puzzle comes with all the parts made from a thick cardboard all with a little letter on them that correspond to the instructions leaflet which was easy to follow. The pieces slot together easily although Joseph had a bit of a problem with doing it but his hands are tiny. The head moves up and down and the tail can be moved from side to side. The overall puzzle makes a lovely little toy to play with but also looks nice on the side as a show piece. Height when constructed is 29cm.
