Boys on trend with Howick – House of Fraser

My boys love their clothes and they don’t need an excuse to dress up in their best clothes. They are forever rummaging through their wardrobes searching for outfits to wear. Putting together new styles and always asking me if they look smart. They have their own styles which they have, over the past few years, put together by themselves. The middle boy will always be found wearing a Dickie Bow or a Trilby hat and the youngest likes to dress smart. Their bedroom floor has always got the odd item of clothing scattered across it from where they have got changed throughout the day.

I love that they have a passion for clothes, as I studied fashion when I was younger, It’s a nice feeling to know that even though I don’t have a girl to follow my passion for fashion the boys enjoy it too.

Just before Christmas the boys were sent a few items of clothing from House Of Fraser.

I chose a particular t shirt for my 9 year old. It is a Bike print crew neck top by Howick. He loves to wear unusual clothing, something that makes him look different from his friends.

The print is large and fun with bicycles, helmets and water bottles scattered around the T-Shirt. My son is an outdoors person and likes nothing more than to go out around the block on his bike. This T-shirt suits his personality to tee (excuse the pun)

The material is 100% cotton leaving it feeling soft against the skin. It looks lovely teamed with a pair of jeans and a blazer over the top. It’s the ideal smart casual staple for any boys wardrobe. The T-shirt is a size 7-8 and it fitted my son perfectly. His height is 125cm.

What does the boy say “I like the bike T-shirt as it is very comfortable to wear and soft on my skin. I also like the print on it”

T-Shirt £12/ Current sale price £6 (Jan 2016)

From smart casual to special occasion smart. We was also sent a three piece classic suit in grey by Howick.

Now this has got to be the most adorable little outfit I have seen my youngest wear. He had me in tears when he wore it. I am hoping that we have an invite to a special occasion so that he gets to wear it again before he outgrows it

img_20161226_160711

He was so proud of himself wearing it, he was beaming from ear to ear. And you have to admit, he looks pretty dapper in the tailored suit.

The quality of this suit is of high standard. The stitching is neatly done and the material is soft and comfy. The last thing you want is a child in a suit that is uncomfortable all day long,

20170103_155507

If your child has a slim waist then the trousers are ideal, as they have an adjustable waist line that can be tightened by pulling the elastic on to the button

20170103_155305

There are two usable pockets on the back of the trousers and are finished off with a pressed central crease down the front of the leg giving the overall look of the suit a polished look.

20161226_133124

Along with the trousers and jacket there was also a waistcoat. 20161226_133113

The silk lining follows throughout all three items. You will find this suit has all the design features you would want from a smart suit for any age.

  • Inside pockets on the jacket
  • Button hole on lapel
  • Box vent on the back of the jacket
  • Lined and stitched to a high standard

20170103_155139

  • Buttons on the jacket cuffs20170103_155414
  • Metal clasp trousers, easy to use for young children
  • Adjustable elastic waist
  • Detailed belt on the back of the waistcoat

20170103_154611

  • Buttons of reasonable size for little hands to grasp

20170103_154639

The suit is not sold as a three-piece, each item is sold separately.

Both items are of good quality as you would expect from a high end department store. In my opinion they are lovely staple items for any stylish boys wardrobe.

Joe Browns Review and £50 Voucher Giveaway

As the weather has been getting warmer and summer is nearing I have been on the look out for some lovely cool summer dresses that I can wear for the school run and for work, as I work in a school they obviously need to appropriate wear….not too short, no bare shoulders and a big thing is comfort.

Joe Browns have gorgeous unusual clothes and a huge selection of different types of dresses to suit all, most of them have big and bold prints on them, some are cute little summer dresses to suit daytime or evening. I’m not really a print type of girl but I definitely don’t like boring, as I was scanning through the dress page on their webpage I found the perfect dress for me, the Luscious Linen costing £39.95

LD549 - Luscious Linen Dress - Luscious Linen Dress, Dresses, Women's Outlet, Clothing, Accessories, Joe Browns

With a loose fitting style it was perfect for my job at school, it looked cool and with the embroidery at the front, very cute.

I quickly ordered the dress and within a couple of days it had arrived, wrapped in tissue paper i ripped it open and couldn’t wait to try it on. I had ordered a size 8, my size ranges from 6-8, I have a 26.5″ waist and a 30″ bust, I normally find it hard buying clothes that fit me perfectly. The dress was very loose and didn’t flatter ma at all, with my skinny frame it just hung on me, I made a big mistake when ordering the dress as I didn’t look at the measurements in the description. It looked really cute on the model but then again she probably wasn’t short with no bust! lol

I took the dress in at the sides from under the arm down the the hem, by about an inch either side and found that it was an ideal loose fit now.

The material is soft making the dress very comfortable and with the loose fitting it is ideal for those hot sticky days.

I absolutely adore the detail at the front of the dress, the embroidered lace yolk and the cute little wooden buttons (which are just for the design and not usable) The dress is beautifully made and the little added embroidered lace around the bottom of the dress makes it just that extra special. The yolk on the top back of the dress has some pin tucks in it which gives it extra gathering when the belt is tied.

20140708-062544.jpgEven with the little belt tied up it still feels very loose and has lots of movement in it

20140708-062535.jpg

I teamed the dress up with a pair of golden jellies and a 3/4 sleeve lace cardigan for work and not once did i feel restricted whilst working, not only does it look comfortable it IS comfortable to wear. The length is perfect as it reaches just at knee level (i’m 3′ 4″) especially if your a very active person, It’s ideal clothing for my work as I am up an down on the carpet, running around with children and bending down at tables.

I was asked to choose an outfit to review but have also been given a £50 voucher to give away to one of my lucky follower/readers. If you would like to be in with a chance of winning the voucher to spend on line at Joe Browns then follow all of the options on the rafflecopter form below.

Behind the scenes of a child fashion shoot

The alarm went off at 6am this morning, up bright and early on the school holidays isn’t something I would normally be doing especially as I am on holiday from work too! But today was special day, today was Joseph’s photoshoot for an online department store.

The call time was 9am and we had to travel to Camden Road in London. It took us an hour and 15 of travelling on one bus and two overground trains and a short walk from the station and we was there 5 minutes early.

The room where Joseph’s shoot was being held had a pool table and a sofa, so while the boys played a spot of pool I sat down on the comfy sofa for a little break.

20130405-215932.jpg

Joseph was called in to make up where he had his face powdered and they tried to tame his hair with a spray of hairspray.

20130405-215816.jpg

Hair and make up all done he was ready to don some of the gorgeous clothes and pose for the camera

20130405-215906.jpg

It’s hard for me to get Joseph to stand still so I’m not sure how they managed to get so many snaps of him standing still but they did and I think it was a success!

I promised him if he stood as still as a statue for 5 seconds I would buy him a bubble wand, he went further than 5 seconds an managed a whole 12 seconds which is a record for him lol

The shoot was over by 11am, so saying our thank yous and goodbyes we was free to go home, now we just have to wait until his photos go online 🙂

If you have any questions on child modelling that you would like to know, ask away and I will try and help as much as I can 🙂

Trendy L’asticot Toddler

Whilst recently scrolling through my home page on Instagram I came across some pictures of gorgeous items of childrens clothing that Jenny from Kyna Boutique had uploaded. She was sharing with us some new stock from L’asticot and I knew the moment that I saw them I just had to have them for Oliver.

20130305-220526.jpg

One of the items was a L’asticot bodysuit with a penny farthing print on it and a yellow trim on the neck and legs. With spring on its way, yellow is the ideal colour to be buying and after the dreary long winter we have had this bodysuit was certainly going to be brightening up my little Oliver’s day.

I ordered the items and within no time at all they had arrived, they was beautifully wrapped in cream paper and tied together with a black satin ribbon, I instantly knew that I would be happy with my purchase. As soon as I got my hands on the clothes I knew that I had bought some quality clothes, they felt soft like velvet. The material was thick and stretchy but not that stretchy that it would lose its shape.

20130305-220447.jpg

I couldn’t wait to try it on him and was pleasantly surprised to see that the bodysuit had a double position poppers which is a fabulous idea as the item gets to grow with your child resulting in it lasting longer.

20130305-220506.jpgThe body suit oozes excellence and is made from a superior quality of material with a stunning print of bikes on it.

As daddy is a keen cyclist and spends a majority of his time out on his racer I thought this would be lovely to show daddy how much Oliver supports daddy when he is competing in races.20130305-220517.jpg

I can’t wait until the weather warms up a bit and I get to show Oliver off wearing it, What do you think of it?

The body suit cost me £20 but worth every penny as it will double up as a t-shirt in the summer and with the extra poppers it will last longer too. If you like the look of this bodysuit, pop on over to Kyna Boutique and check out the rest of L’asticot new seasons stock.

Trendy Toddler ‘Me Too’

For the past couple of months Oliver has been wearing an all in one coat which i bought from TK Maxx about 4 years ago for his older brother Joseph. The coat is from a danish company called ‘Me Too’ who design clothing for children which are bright in colours and of fun designs. Since i bought the coat i have been on the look out for a similar one in an older age but as yet not found one!

The coat is windproof and waterproof, the hood is detachable with press studs and is elasticated and the cuffs are also elasticated which helps keep out the cold and rain. There are elasticated adjustable foot straps which help keep the trouser leg down and it is fully lined with a nice soft cotton material.

I love the design on the coat and the colours are gorgeous and with all the wear that my two boys have given this coat it has not worn nor faded a bit. On the front it says ‘Beware’ and the back says ‘Adventure, Bugs world’ which matches my boys character to a T as they both love being outdoors on big adventures. The colour is blue and green and where the material is so soft there is plenty of give in the coat making it very comfortable without restrictions.

20130122-223139.jpg

Oliver has been wearing this coat this week in the snow, he has previously worn it in the rain and everytime i take it off of him he is always nice and warm, somtimes even sweaty.I love this coat and so do my boys.

What do you think of Olivers Me Too coat?

Boys All In One Fun with Next!

With Christmas almost on top of us i have been doing a bit of browsing on line for a few little gift ideas for my boys. I love the idea of them snuggling up together in some lovely warm onesies on a cold winters day. They look all cuddly and comfortable. I always like to buy the boys pyjamas and clothes as gifts for christmas presents as i know they will definitely get some use out of them.

Next have a gorgeous selection of clothes and i would like to share with you a few that i have put onto the boys christmas list.

This Polar Bear All in One would look absolutely adorable on my little Oliver, it comes in sizes from 9-12 months to 5-6 years and costs £17-£19.

The next one is for Joseph, this Blue Star All in one is perfect for him as he is my little star! I love the bright blue colour and Joseph really likes to wear hoods at the moment too. It comes in sizes ranging from 9 months to 6 years and costs £11-£13.

And lastly this Angry Birds All in One suits my Jak to a tee. He loves the idea of wearing onesies but he gets too hot in them and can only last half hour before jumping out of it saying he cant stand no more. As this item isn’t fluffy like the others he should last longer in it. It comes in sizes ranging from 3-16 years old and costs £21-£26.

What do you think of my selection? Do your children like to wear onesies?

Thank you for reading 🙂
