Sheep & Wolves DVD: Review and Giveaway

TRL398 2D

From the producers of The Snow Queen 2 comes Sheep And Wolves, a fun, animated adventure featuring the voices of Tom Felton (Harry Potter) Ruby Rose (Pitch Perfect 3) Jim Cummings (Winnie The Pooh) and China Anna Mcclain (Black Lightening).

In a magical faraway land, in a picturesque village nestled among green meadows and rolling hills, lives a flock of carefree sheep. But their idyllic and stress-free solitude is interrupted when a pack of wolves sets up camp in a nearby ravine.

When the wolves’ retiring pack leader Magra (Cummings) announces that his future successor must prove his worth by defeating their rivals, the powerful and blood-thirsty Ragear steps forward. But, the only wolf brave enough to challenge him is Grey (Felton), the pack’s favourite but hopeless goofball. Grey has to prove to everyone, including his Fiance, Bianca (Rose), that he is worthy of becoming a leader. However, Grey faces a slight mishap and ends up taking a magic potion; given to him by a travelling gypsy rabbit, Mami, that turns him into a…Ram! After going back to the den and being chased out, he finds himself within the company of the sheep and quickly befriends Moz, a simple-hearted and kind ram and Lyra (McClain), a good-natured and naive young ewe.

Will Grey find his way back to his pack and his girlfriend Bianca?

Grey loves to mess around and be the centre of attention, but after spending time with the sheep, he soon learns what is important and being true to himself. Grey quickly becomes a leader that Magra would be proud of, but not for the wolves…

“From here on out, we’re not a flock- we’re a pack! A pack of wild sheep!”

We found the film to be very similar to the plot of The Lion King, although not as serious. Grey is kind and quick-witted. There were parts of the film that had the children laughing and you quickly become a big fan of Grey, wanting him to grow up and take on responsibility.

The film features mixed messages but we saw it about friendship and how to deal with other groups who are different to you. Friendship comes in all shapes and sizes and when it’s not expected.

My children enjoyed the humour and story of the film. It’s a great, feel good, family film.

It was interesting to hear Jim Cummings voice as Magra, I grew up being a big fan of Winnie The Pooh, He is a very talented man.

The DVD is set to be released in the UK  9th April 2018

Ghosthunters on icy trails trailer

ghost
Based on the bestselling novel by Cornelia Funke, this heartwarming tale of an unusual friendship, built out of the need to defeat an ancient evil, GHOSTHUNTERS.

When the often-fearful eleven-year-old Tom (Milo Parker – Mr Holmes) discovers a slimy green ghost in his cellar called Hugo, he is understandably afraid.  However, Tom soon realises that Hugo, who is an ASG (Averagely Spooky Ghost), is not only completely harmless but also desperately in need of his help. He has been banished from his haunted house by a dangerous AIG (Ancient Ice Ghost) who has moved in and is spreading an arctic cold over the entire town in the middle of summer!

To help get rid of this AIG, Tom and Hugo enlist the services of a professional Ghosthunter, Hetty Cuminseed, who has just lost her job at the CGI (the Central Ghosthunting Institute). Hetty doesn‘t like children or ghosts very much but Tom and Hugo convince her to teach them the basics of ghosthunting. The three become an unlikely team – only with friendship, courage and self–confidence can they overcome their adversary and save the town from the AIG.

Will the unconventional trio overcome their differences, and manage to defeat the evil Ancient Ice Ghost, and save the town from an icy end?

We was lucky to be invited along to a screening of the Ghosthunters, as we wasn’t sure of the certificate, we all went along. We had watched the trailer and thought that it was suitable for Oliver, who is 4, to watch.
Hugo is most definitely the star of the movie, my children loved his character. He is friendly, adorable and hilarious. Hugo just wants a friend and someone to help him in the quest of getting rid of the Ancient Ice Ghost from his home, so that he can move back in and get on with being an ASG. Tom is afraid of him at first and tries everything to get rid of him, even squirting him with orange juice (which ghost don’t like) but he soon realises that Hugo just wants a friend. When Tom goes in search of Hetty, he first asks her for help to get rid of Hugo, but the next time he goes to her house its to help Hugo.
Although Hetty doesn’t originally take a liking to Tom and Hugo, she soon realises that they have grown on her and that they are her only friends. As the days go by, the AIG becomes stronger and stronger and soon is taking over the city. It moves into the CGI where the three of them get together and work out what is needed to banish the AIG from Hugo’s home and the city forever.
My boys loved the film and can’t wait until it’s out on DVD so that they can buy it. The laughed the whole way through, and are now even searching for their very own Hugo.

Don’t miss the thrilling GHOSTHUNTERS at cinemas nationwide 2nd OCTOBER.
