There is an old myth about a warning of a flood in London.
Along the River Thames, southbank side there are lion heads with moorings in their mouths.
These lions are said to be put in place to warn London of a flood
“When the lions drink, London will sink”
“When it’s up to their manes, we’ll go down the drains”
“When the water is sucked, you can be sure we’re all … in trouble”
