Demon Dentist by David Walliams Book Review

Books, books, books! I believe that they may be growing out of every nook and cranny in my house. All three of the boys love their stories and as Joseph is now a confident reader he is forever asking for new books to add on to his already jam packed book shelf.

The eldest loves to read books ranging from comedy to sci-fi, he has an ever growing collection of books and I am always searching for new stories that would grab his attention. Once he picks up a book he will not put it down until it’s finished, no mater how big it is.

We recently received a book for Jak to review, a book by one of his favourite authors, the very funny David Walliams.

Demon Dentist

“Darkness had come to the town. Strange things were happening in the dead of night. Children would put a tooth under their pillow for the tooth fairy, but in the morning they would wake up to find… a dead slug; a live spider; hundreds of earwigs creeping and crawling beneath their pillow. Evil was at work. But who or what was behind it…?”

Here is Jak’s review of the book, written in his own words.

Book title: Demon Dentist

Author: David Walliams

Illustrator: Tony Ross

The book was about:

A small 11 year old boy called Alfred (who’s dad has been in wheelchair since Alfreds’ mum died)who hasn’t been to the dentist for five years. When a social worker called Winnie comes to help dad Alfred is forced to go to the dentist but finds that she is an evil witch who has been collecting teeth for centuries! Can helpless Alfred save his Girlfriend (sorry, FRIEND-GIRL), his dying dad, that annoying social worker, the whole town and that boy who spends all his time on his phone?

My favourite character in the book was Texting Boy and Raj because:

The texting boy is basically me (lol) and raj is that person that you try to like and then all of a sudden your best friends and you don’t know why. These two characters are MY favorites because they made me laugh so hard!

I like this book because:

^^^^^^^^^TYPO^^^^^^^^^ I LOVED this book because it’s so funny and I think that David Walliams has thought outside of the box. I got told off in school because I was laughing too hard when I was reading! (lol) David has used made up words in his book, just like Roahl Dahl, such as hmmmmed.

You should read this book because:

It is EXTREMELY funny and mind boggling. I would recommend this book to anybody who liked books by the author Roahl Dahl and the ages of 8-13. In conclusion I think this book is Awesome!

I haven’t read the book myself but i take it on good advice that it is a superb book to read, Jak never put it down, reading it on the train and on the bus on a recent trip to London. I often heard him chuckling away to himself whilst reading the book, retelling the part that has made him laugh. The book is aimed at children from the age of 9.

We received a copy of the book for review purposes only
